Introduction

It is vital that you maintain a balance between your personal life and your work life. Priorities need to be balanced in order for you to be effective on the job. You need to be proactive and upfront about your professional goals, job responsibilities, and maintaining balance on the job. A lack of balance between work and life will show on the job, and can affect your work with students. Your supervisor, the licensed staff who directs your daily work, and you should regularly meet to go over job responsibilities, possible concerns about daily work activities, and to celebrate successful work habits and progress. In order for a team of professionals to be effective, it is important that each member support one another, both with concerns and successes.

Objectives

As you read the objectives for this unit, think about and rate your current knowledge using the following scale.
