Introduction

The management of behaviors of individuals in schools is an important concept for teachers and paraprofessionals. Effective and positive behavior management provides an environment conducive to learning. There are federal and state laws, rules and regulations that help govern behavior management procedures. It is important for you to become familiar with these policies, as they will affect the way that you help manage behavior. Behavior management can also be related to violence in the schools. This is especially important in today's society where violence in the schools has become an issue.
