Introduction

Prescription medications are used on a daily or near daily basis with children. It is important that you understand that these medications do have side effects and that it will affect student's learning. Being aware of this information will allow you and teaching staff to accommodate students so they can achieve to their potential.

Upon completion of this unit, you will:

  • Understand the importance of medication and specific issues of medication.
  • Be able to differentiate between some medications and their effects.
  • Understand how some medications affect students in the classroom.
